Well done to all those who took part in the Goodwood Spring Challenge on Sunday.
The day started with low cloud and fine rain but by eleven the sun made an appearance to brighten things up a bit, the course was a little slippy in places but rode well. Chris Dobson put in a solid performance to take 3rd place amid some tough competitionin the Open sport category with Faye Cripps taking the win in the womens masters vet. James Woodward was having a good ride and was doing well in the masters when he had a nasty crash and broke his rear mech on the last lap. Peter McGuiness came in 8th in the veteran mens with a strong start in the largest category of the day with a field of 36 riders. Young Jamie Ford rode really well in the youth category to come in 2nd, well done Jamie.
Thankyou also to all the volunteers on the day and for Craig Boyns for volunteering to spend his birthday as race marshall for the day helping out those in trouble and keeping the course clear.
With all your help and entries on the day you have all helped raise much needed funds for local charities, Sussex Air Ambulance and the Sophie Nugent Fund.
